I have always been a seeker - a seeker of truth, a seeker of knowledge, a seeker of love. And I've always been a little different, too. Stella still says to me, "Frankie, you have ALWAYS marched to the beat of a different drummer. Even when you were an infant, you were different". Hell, I'm even LEFT-HANDED!! LOL I have reveled in that difference. But I have also paid a price for it, too. That's why they say DARE to be different. Being different means you stand out. Standing out means being apart, exposed, if you will. I have been insulted, made fun of, bullied, and, yes, had my heart broken WAY too many times. But, still, I can't change. I WON'T change. It is who I am. I am good. I do no harm, at least not intentionally. As Spike says, "always do the right thing". I always try. And, most importantly, I LOVE.
And I will continue to try. I will continue to seek. I want to break on through to the other side - to a new state of awareness. I want to smash down the doors of perception. Me, Aldous, Jack, and Jim. I just don't want to be consumed by the search. . .
I suppose that The Who may have said it best with their song "Slip Kid": There ain't no easy way be free.
