Poetry

Da I Can’t Drive Dis Here Yellow Taxi No Mo’ Blues

I gots Da I Can’t Drive Dis Here Yellow Taxi No Mo’ Blues

Been a good boy but I just can’t pay no mo’ of dem society dues

Workin’ so hard just ta live da life I choose

But bein’ good ain’t good enough

For dose who wants to see ya’ lose.

I gots Da I can’t Drive Dis Here Yellow Taxi No Mo’ Blues

Mile after endless mile

Smile after phony smile

Lord, it’s all da same

I gots ta think somebody’s ta blame.

I gots Da I Can’t Drive Dis Here Yellow Taxi No Mo’ Blues

Keep lookin’ fo’ some end in sight

Even a foe ta grab an’ fight

But I’m left grabbin’ fo’ straws

Once again a rebel witout a cause.

I gots Da I Can’t Drive Dis Here Yellow Taxi No Mo’ Blues
