Impression: The 2012 DNC, Charlotte, North Carolina - part 1.

I made these photos during the first few days at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are presented in the order in which they were made. I hope that tell their own story. MANY more photos to come, as is my written account.
A beautiful and incredibly CLEAN city.  Charlotte, North Carolina

The Charlotte Civic Center and the site of our Master Control
In the distance (and a LONG walk from our Master Control), the Time Warner Arena and main site of the 2012 DNC.

The Time Warner Arena - main entrance.
Inside the arena, with the stage nearly complete.  Notice all of the blue!

The city's architecture is really wonderful.
A sand sculpture of the President in downtown.

The Bank of America Stadium where President Obama was to give his acceptance speech.  Bad weather is forcing him back to the Arena location.
Loved this downtown skyscraper on one of our rare sunny days during BOTH conventions!

A fraction of the gear we would use to make TV!
A fraction of the gear to be sold at the DNC!

Beautiful little city on a beautiful day.
The "chain gang" - my co-workers.  I love them all!
The arena is ready to go!
Master techs John Whitely and Phil Doyle doing what they do best.

One of the early protests. This one staged by all women, all dressed in pink.
Their message.

I guess we could call them "The Pink Panthers".
