Notes from the RNC: Day 10

F LoBuono

The parade of hypocrisy continues.

Well, at least I have to give them credit. They are consistent in their message: God, Guns, Country - over and over again. Like the proverbial broken record, speaker after speaker, despite the so-called evening's theme like Make America Great Again or Make America Work Again, the crux of their message is always laced with a healthy dose of FEAR and LOATHING. It was Rudy Giuliani the night before and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich last night. Both saved their most fiery rhetoric for the topics of immigration and terrorism, i.e. a terrorists or thugs lurk behind every immigrant. Like Giuliani the night before, Gingrich assailed us with horrible stories of extreme violence committed by "those" people we need to fear. The crowd ate it up with a BIG spoon.

So, out of one side of their mouths they talk of Trump's fairness and dedication to diversity while out of the other they condemned entire ethnic groups.

And, it didn't stop there.

Virtually all of the speakers so far, in line with their theme of God, Guns, Country, were OBVIOUSLY Christians. Most of them practiced the strictest form of the religion. Consistent with one of the core principals of Evangelical Christianity is their unwavering support of Israel. Of course, this may seem as admirable. But, you have to look between the lines to find the REAL meaning behind that support. Evangelical Christians support Israel because of their belief in The Rapture. The Rapture is the process for the end of the world and the return of The Christ. At that time, aka The Apocalypse, all who have accepted Jesus as their savior will be called to Heaven. All others will be cast into Hell. Well, before that can take place Israel must be in firmly in the hands of the Jews. And, of course, since they are Jews, unless they accept Jesus as savior, they will be cast into Hell.

This, my friends, is the very definition of hypocrisy.

And, it didn't stop there. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Vice President nominee Mike Pence both gave impassioned speeches extolling their positions that "improved" their States' economies. But, at what cost? Each did so by denying workers their right to Unionize. With the GOP, nothing is actually what it appears to be.

Interestingly, the only one who hasn't sold his soul to the party was Senator Ted Cruz who spoke his mind and didn't "fall into line", at least in not supporting Trump. During his 20 minute speech, he not only refused to endorse him, he never even mentioned his name! He was booed off the stage. And, in typical Trump jack-booted fashion, Cruz's family was attacked as they tried to leave the arena.

Indeed.

More later.
